RC Shivers writes from a deep-seated need to create, drawing on a lifetime of observing people and the varied paths they walk. Following an agricultural upbringing on Long Island, he divided the next forty years between the rugged North Georgia mountains and the Charleston coastal Lowcountry. These contrasting landscapes serve as the backdrop for his work, which spans atmospheric Southern Gothic mysteries, gripping psychological dramas, and high-stakes racing adventures.

His storytelling is grounded in real-world grit and hands-on experience. Coming of age as a commercial tuna fisherman and racing stock cars for challenge and sport, RC eventually transitioned into a long and successful career in medical imaging as both a clinician and an educator. He employs this diversified background to bring a sharp, authentic eye to his character studies and world-building. His creative drive has always been a constant: he spent years writing lyrics, playing bass, and singing for the rock band SkyKing & The Mystics, alongside publishing extensive digital content on healthcare, baseball, NASCAR, and music for outlets like Yahoo Sports, WebMD, Livestrong, and Exami

Today, RC lives with his wife son and two high-energy dogs, Gracie and Izzie. When he isn't drafting his next novel, he keeps his hands busy and his momentum going—whether he's turning wrenches on his classic Corvette, shooting, racing slot cars, watching NASCAR, or tending to his vegetable garden.
